Tap the problem, on the drawing or in the list, and I'll say if it's a job I do.
Dripping tap
That's me.
Yes, that's me. Often it's a washer or a cartridge, sometimes the tap has had it. Send me a photo and I'll tell you which.
Basin or tap change
That's me.
Yes. New basins and taps, kitchen or bathroom. If you've already bought them, send me a photo and I'll check they'll fit.
Toilet keeps running
That's me.
Yes. Usually it's the fill valve or the flush valve. I can fix it, or change the toilet if it's time.
Water where it shouldn't be
That's me.
Turn the water off at the stopcock if you can, then ring me. Finding and stopping leaks is part of what I do.
Cold radiator
That's me.
Yes. Cold at the top is usually air. Cold all over can be a valve, the pump or how the system is balanced. That's all system side, so that's me.
New or moved radiator
That's me.
Yes. New radiators, swaps, moving one to another wall, and new valves.
Noisy pump or pressure dropping
That's me.
Yes, if it's on the system side: the pump, the valves, or a leak on the pipes. If it's inside the boiler, I'll say so.
Heating won't come on
That's me.
Often it's the thermostat, the programmer or a valve, not the boiler. I can check those first.
Hot water cylinder
That's me.
Yes. Unvented cylinders for mains-pressure hot water: a new one, a replacement, and the safety valves.
Heat pump
That's me.
Yes. Air source heat pumps on a wet system, with radiators or underfloor heating.
