Plumbing jobs around the house
The everyday jobs. A tap that drips, a toilet that won't stop running, a basin you want changed, an outside tap for the garden. These are the everyday jobs, not ones I fit in around something bigger.
What I get called for
- Toilet changes and toilets that keep running or won't flush properly
- Basin and tap changes, kitchen and bathroom
- Leaking, dripping and stiff taps
- New outside taps
- Leaks under sinks, behind toilets and on pipework you can get to
- Isolation valves that won't turn off, or are missing
What happens when I turn up
- I'll ask you to send a photo or two first if you can. It saves a wasted trip and means I bring the right bits.
- I look at the job, tell you what's wrong and what I'd do, and give you a price before I start.
- If you've already bought the tap or toilet, that's fine. I'll check it fits your pipework before I start.
- When it's done I test it, clean up, and show you where the isolation valve is.
Questions
Will you come out for a small job like a dripping tap?
Yes. Small jobs are the main part of what I do, not a favour.
Can you fit a tap or toilet I've bought myself?
Usually, yes. Send me a photo of it and of what's there now, and I'll tell you if it'll fit or if it needs extra parts.
Do you give a price before you start?
Yes. You get a price for the job before I pick a tool up.
Do you do bathroom fit-outs?
I don't do full bathroom refits. I do the plumbing jobs in a bathroom: toilets, basins, taps and leaks.
Do you work on boilers?
I don't do boiler or gas work. If it's the boiler, you need a Gas Safe engineer.
